Triple Tequila Burgers

  1. A.1.-Tequila BBQ Sauce: Combine ingredients in saucepan; bring boil on medium heat.
  2. Simmer on low heat 20 min.
  3. or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour 2/3 of the sauce into one bowl for basting and 1/3 into another bowl for topping burgers.
  5. Avocado Crema: Puree ingredients in food processor until smooth.
  6. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  7. Burger Patties: Combine ingredients.
  8. Shape into 5.3-oz.
  9. patties.
  10. Season with salt and pepper.
  11. Onion Rings: Whisk wet ingredients in bowl.
  12. Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl.
  13. Add onion rings to milk mixture; let stand 30 min.
  14. Drain onions; reserve liquid.
  15. Dredge onions in flour mixture, dip in milk mixture, then back into flour mixture.
  16. Deep-fry in 350 degrees F oil until golden brown and crisp.
  17. For each serving: Grill 1 Burger Patty on medium-high heat, basting with about 2 Tbsp.
  18. A.1.-Tequila BBQ Sauce.
  19. Top with 1 cheese slice during the last minute of cooking.
  20. Fill 1 bun with prepared burger, 1 Tbsp.
  21. A.1.-Tequila BBQ Sauce, 2 Tbsp.
  22. Avocado Crema and 2 Onion Rings.
