Butterscotch Torte Recipe
- 6 x Large eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp baking pwdr
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 1 c. nuts, minced
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 x egg, well beaten
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Beat egg yolks well, slowly adding sugar, then baking pwdr and flavoring.
- Mix well.
- Beat egg whites till they hold stiff peaks: Mix in yolk mix, crumbs and nuts.
- Bake in slow oven 3250 30-35 minutes.
- SauceAdd water to melted butter in saucepan.
- Blend in brown sugar and flour.
- Add in egg, orange juice, and vanilla.
- Mix well.
- Bring to boil and cook till thickened.
- This can be served in the pan or possibly fixed like date pudding.
