Snow Peas with Orange Liqueur
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 (10-ounce) packages frozen snow peas
- 1 (8-ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves, or 1 1/2 tablespoons dried mint
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Bring 1 cup of water to a boil and add the sugar.
- Drop in the snow peas and cook until barely tender, drain, and return to pan.
- Add the water chestnuts, orange liqueur, butter, mint, and salt.
- Cook over medium-low heat until heated through.
