Asparagus and Pear Bites
- 1 whole Puff Pastry Sheet
- 8 stalks Asparagus, Tough End Removed And Remaining Stalk Cut In Half
- 3 ounces, weight White Cheddar Cheese, Beecher's Flagship
- 1/2 whole Barlett Pear, Cored And Thinly Sliced
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 1 Whisked Egg
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Layer a non-stick baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface.
- Using a knife, slice it into elongated diamond shapes approximately 1 1/2 inches wide, by 3 1/2 inches long.
- Lay 2-3 pieces of asparagus onto each piece of puff pastry hamburger-style so the longer edges of the puff pastry can be folded over later.
- Top asparagus with crumbles of Beechers cheese and 1 slice of pear.
- Season with a dash of ground pepper.
- Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice over the top of the pepper.
- Fold elongated corners of puff pastry over the cheese, pear and asparagus.
- Its okay if the asparagus and pear are sticking out.
- Using a pastry brush, brush some egg onto the top of the pastry.
- Bake bites for 15 minutes.
- Serve while still warm.
