Cereal Bircher-Benner Style (Birchermusli)
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 14 cup maple syrup
- 14 chopped nuts
- 13 cup raisins
- 1 apple
- milk
- Preheat over to 300 degrees.
- In a medium bowl at oats.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and vanilla sugar and pour maple syrup in a circle on top.
- Stir until mixed well.
- Generously coat a large baking sheet with no-stick cooking spray.
- With the spoon, spread cereal evenly on the sheet.
- Bake untilthe flakes are golden brown (around 15 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Remove cereal from oven and allow to cool.
- Pour cereal into an airtight container and add nuts and raisins, mixing well.
- The cereal may be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- To serve, divide cereal into 4 bowls.
- Peel and core an apple and grate it on top of cereal.
- Add milk to taste.
