Meat Balls With Wine Sauce Recipe
- 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
- 8 ounce. Contadina tomato sauce
- 3 tbsp. Real Lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 c. Holland House red wine
- 1/3 c. grated raw potato
- 1 pound grnd chuck
- 1 sm. onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Combine sugar, sauce, lemon juice, garlic salt and wine.
- Bring to boiling, stirring, reduce heat and allow to simmer gently, uncovered till sauce thickens (20 min).
- Combine potato, meat, onion, egg and salt till blended; shape into balls size of large marble.
- Arrange on baking pan, put in 500 degree oven for 5 min.
- Remove and add in to sauce including any pan juice.
- Simmer a few min.
- Cold and store.
- Best made one day before serving.
- Freezes well.
- Serve Warm.
- Makes approx 6 dozen.
