Deep Fried Ground Shrimp Balls with Great Texture

  1. Prepare the shrimp.
  2. De-vein them and rub them with salt and katakuriko (not listed in the ingredient list).
  3. Mince half the shrimp into a paste.
  4. I did this with a knife.
  5. If you have a food processor, you can use it.
  6. Roughly chop the remaining shrimp.
  7. Put the hanpen into a bowl and break it apart with your fingers.
  8. IAdd the shrimp from Step 2, mayonnaise, egg, katakuriko, salt, and pepper to the Step 3 bowl.
  9. Mix everything together well.
  10. Adjust the amount of egg as necessary if the mixture is too loose.
  11. Divide the mixture into 4 portions.
  12. Form each part into a patty.
  13. Cover the patties with flour, dip in egg, and then cover in panko bread crumbs (not listed).
  14. Fry the patties until they turn a nice golden brown color.
