Olive Bread
- 1-1/4 cup water
- 4 cups flour
- 1-1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. dry yeast
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tbsp. dried onion chips
- 3 oz. black olives
- 2 oz. green olives
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- Place all ingredients in order in your bread maker.
- Run bread maker through dough only cycle.
- After the machine makes the dough, remove it from machine and cut in half.
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Place heat proof bowl filled almost to the top with water in oven.
- Shape dough into two baguette shaped loaves.
- Place loaves on a parchment paper lined cooking sheet, or a loaf pan.
- Cover loaves with lightly oiled cellophane wrap.
- Let loaves rise for 30 minutes while oven heats.
- Score top of loaves with very sharp knife or Lame.
- Place loaves in oven and bake for 35-40 minutes.
- For a very crispy and chewy crust spray loaves with water just before putting in oven and then twice again at 5 minute intervals from beginning of baking time.
- For best results in your baking put your pizza stone in the oven before preheating.
- This heavy stone will help regulate the heat in the oven and bake the loaves at a more even temperature.
