Chocolate Banana Mousse

  1. Soak the gelatin powder in 1 tablespoon of water.
  2. Mash the banana with a fork, and sprinkle rum.
  3. Finely chop the chocolate.
  4. Add the egg yolk and sugar to a bowl, and mix well with a whisk.
  5. Add the milk little by little, and blend in.
  6. Put the bowl on medium low heat, and warm the mixture without letting it boil.
  7. Remove from the heat.
  8. Add the chocolate and melt it while stirring with a wooden spatula.
  9. Microwave the Step 1 gelatin (for about 30 seconds at 600W), and dissolve.
  10. Add it to the bowl little by little while mixing well with the whisk.
  11. Add the banana to Step 3, and mix well.
  12. Put the bowl over ice-cold water, and mix until the mixture has thickened.
  13. Whip the heavy cream in a different bowl until soft peaks form, then add it to the main bowl and mix well.
  14. Pour into cups, and chill in the fridge to harden.
