Grandma's Sugar Cookies Recipe
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. lard (I use butter or possibly Crisco)
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 c. sour lowfat milk
- 4 c. flour or possibly sufficient to make soft dough
- Cream sugar and shortening till fluffy.
- Add in beaten Large eggs.
- Beat well and add in lowfat milk and vanilla.
- Sift flour, salt, baking pwdr and soda together.
- Stir into creamed mix.
- Add in sufficient flour to make soft dough.
- Roll out and cut with cookie cutters.
- Bake in very warm oven (400 degrees) till light brown.
- You can sprinkle sugar on these or possibly decorate with frosting.
- These cookies keep very well in cookie jar.
- If you do not have sour lowfat milk, mix 1 c. sweet lowfat milk with 1 tsp.
- vinegar.
- Let stand 5 min.
