Sheri's red beans and rice
- 1 lb smoked sausage a brand you like
- 1 bell pepper chopped
- 1 tbsp cajuin seasoning I used Tony's
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp dried onion flakes urse fresh if you like
- 1/2 tsp celery seeds
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 dash of tabasco sauce use your own judgement here
- 1 hot cooked rice for serving
- 1 lb dried red beans soaked over night in lots of water
- 1 add water as needed so beans dont dry up . Just keepvan eye on them!!
- Drain your beans that you soaked add fresh water enough to cover by 3 inches
- Add sausage that you have sliced
- Now add every thing but the hot rice to your beans
- Bring to a boil then lower heat and simmer
- Mine took about 2 hours to cook and thicken you want a nice thick pot licker on yor beans
- Put rice in a bowl add your beans on top pass hot sauce for extra heat
- Enjoy!
