Ukrainian Chestnut Stuffing
- 1 lb. chestnuts
- 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tbsp. cream
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
- Pepper
- Make a slit in each chestnut shell with pointed knife.
- Bake the nuts in a hot oven 400F for 15 minutes, or boil them for the same length of time in water to cover, then drain.
- Remove the shells and the brown skin.
- Mash the chestnuts and combine with the remaining ingredients.
