Chili Cheese Dogs
- 8 whole All Beef Hot Dogs
- 1 pound Ground Beef (lean Is Best!)
- Cajun Seasoning, To Taste (optional)
- 1 jar (15 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
- 1 package (about 1 1/4 Oz. Packet) Chili Seasoning
- 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Kidney Beans
- 8 whole Hot Dog Buns
- 5 Tablespoons Grated Cheese
- 1.
- Cook the hot dogs by either grilling them, boiling, or using your stovetop.
- I used the stove method because I was in a rush but I love that grilled taste.
- 2.
- Next, cook your ground beef.
- I like to use some Cajun seasoning to make sure it is extra spicy!
- 3.
- In a large pan, pour the tomato sauce, chili powder, kidney beans and beef.
- Mix together.
- Allow to sit until it starts to bubble.
- 4.
- Reduce to low heat and cooked uncovered for 10 minutes.
- 5.
- Put hot dogs on bun, pour chili over buns, and sprinkle with cheese.
- Note: If you like onion on your chili cheese dogs, grill an onion after cooking the ground beef so it picks up some of the meat flavor and Cajun spices!
- I love onion in mine but my family doesnt, so I normally skip this step!
- Also, if you want to add fresh cut tomatoes while this is cooking, it is yummy!
- But my picky family prefers it to not have so much tomato flavor.
