Mostaccioli Italian Sauce & Meatballs Recipe
- 1/2 c. onions
- 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 3 (15 ounce.) cans whole tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce.) can tomato paste
- 1 (15 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
- 1/4 c. parsley
- 1 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon anise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 box mostaccioli noodles, cooked
- Meatballs (recipe below)
- French bread
- Brown onions in extra virgin olive oil.
- Add in remaining sauce ingredients.
- Simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hrs, stirring occasionally and adding water as needed.
- Add in meatballs (recipe below) during last 30 min.
- Remove bay leaves.
- Serve with noodles and French bread.
