Brownies With Cream Cheese Swirl Recipe
- 3 ounce cream cheese room temperature
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter - (1/4 stick) room temperature
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 lrg egg
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 6 ounce sweet baking chocolate minced (such as Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate)
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter room temperature
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 lrg Large eggs
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 c. minced walnuts
- Make Swirl: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Lightly butter 8-inch square nonstick baking pan.
- Using electric mixer, beat cream cheese and butter in medium bowl till light and fluffy.
- Gradually add in sugar and beat till well blended.
- Beat in egg.
- Fold in flour and vanilla.
- Set mix aside.
- Make Brownies: Stir baking chocolate and butter in heavy small saucepan over low heat till smooth.
- Cold slightly.
- Using electric mixer, beat sugar and Large eggs in large bowl till slightly thickened, about 2 min.
- Fold in flour, baking pwdr and salt.
- Fold in chocolate mix and extracts.
- Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Spread half of chocolate batter (about 1 1/4 c.) in prepared pan.
- Using rubber spatula, spread cream cheese mix over chocolate batter.
- Spoon remaining chocolate batter over top of cream cheese mix.
- Using tip of knife, gently swirl through batter, forming marble design.
- Bake brownies till tester inserted into center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached, about 30 min.
- Cold brownies in pan on rack.
- Cut into squares.
- This recipe yields 16.
