Shrimp Pie Recipe

  1. Wash fish.
  2. Wrap in cloth, tie tight, drop into boiling salted water and cook 5 min.
  3. Drain, remove cloth and mince.
  4. With fork, add in onions, bread crumbs, seasoning and 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream.
  5. Add in fish mix, shrimps and peas in alternate layers in six small casseroles, top with pastry, cutting a small hole in center of each.
  6. Brush pastry with slightly beaten egg yolk, bake in warm oven, 425 degrees for 20 min.
  7. Make a roux of butter and flour.
  8. Mix water and remaining 1/4 c. lowfat sour cream and add in slowly to roux.
  9. Cook over low heat 5 min or possibly till thick and smooth.
  10. When pies are baked, pour sauce into pies through center opening in top crust.
  11. Serve at once.
  12. Makes about 6 portions.
