Sesame Bread Patties
- 10 slices White bread
- 4 Tbsp Hung Curd / Drained Yoghurt
- 1 Medium onion, finely chopped
- 4 Tbsp Finely chopped green chilies
- 3/4 tsp Black sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp White sesame seeds
- To taste Salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
- 1 tbsp Cornflour
- Trim the side of the bread slices.
- In a bowl pour some water.
- Dip 6 of the 10 bread slices into the water, take out and squeeze out as much of the water as possible.
- Reserve in a bowl, crumble in the remaining slices of bread and with your hands mix it all together to form a dough.
- To the bread add the hung curd, finely chopped onions and green chilies, the black and white sesame seeds, sugar, red chili powder, salt and cornflour.
- Mix well.
- The mixture is likely to be a bit soggy not not too much.
- it should hold together.
- Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Then divide into 12-14 equal parts and shape them into patties.
- We do not want them too thick, or it would take more time to cook through.
- Heat oil in a non stick oil.
- Once the oil is hot, ease in the patties one by one but quickly.
- The heat should be high at this point.
- But once you've let the patties in, turn down the heat.
- Shallow fry on low heat until golden on both sides.
- Once done, turn the heat up, and quickly take the patties out and on to some paper napkins.
- Serve with lemon wedges and salad
