Bean And Pasta Stew Recipe
- 1 c. minced onion
- 1/2 c. minced green pepper
- 3 x cloves garlic chopped
- 16 ounce canned stewed tomatoes, (2 c.)
- 16 ounce canned kidney beans, undrained (2 c.)
- 6 ounce small whole-wheat pasta shells (about 3 c. cooked)
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 tsp dry oregano
- 1 tsp dry basil
- 16 ounce canned garbanzo beans, undrained (2 c.) Pepper to taste Nonfat cooking spray

- This bean and pasta dish is a good choice when time is short.
- All ingredients arc cooked together in one kettle for easy preparation and clean up.
- Saute/fry onions, green pepper and garlic in kettle sprayed with nonfat cooking spray.
- Add in tomatoes, kidney beans, pasta shells, water and spices.
- Bring to a boil, cover and simmer till pasta is tender.
- Add in garbanzo beans and pepper to taste.
- Heat thoroughly.
