Plum Cake

• 1 1/2 pounds butter
• 1 pound sugar
• 12 large eggs
• 1 pound flour, all-purpose
• 3 pounds raisins, seedless
• 1 1/2 pounds currants
• 1/2 pound citron peel
• 1/2 pound lemon zest
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon allspice
• 1/2 teaspoon mace
• 1/2 teaspoon cloves, ground
• 1 each nutmeg grated
• 3 tablespoons strawberry jam
• 1/2 pound almonds
• 1 pound dates
• 1 tablespoon baking powder

1. Mix ingredients together to make a cake batter.
2. Pour batter into pan and put into a preheated oven.
3. Bake for 45 minutes.
4. Let cool.
5. Invert and serve.
