Tea Eggs (Eggs Boiled in Tea Leaves)
- 10 Egg
- 1 teabag Black tea
- 1 Star anise
- 1 tsp Chinese 5-spice powder
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- Boil the eggs.
- Crack the egg shells a little.
- Boil just enough water to submerge the eggs and simmer the tea gently.
- While doing Step 3, add in the cracked eggs, the ingredients and the other seasonings and simmer for about 40 minutes to 1 hour.
- (The picture shows the black tea, star anise and Chinese 5-star powder).
- Leave it in the pot overnight as is.
