Tea Eggs (Eggs Boiled in Tea Leaves)

  1. Boil the eggs.
  2. Crack the egg shells a little.
  3. Boil just enough water to submerge the eggs and simmer the tea gently.
  4. While doing Step 3, add in the cracked eggs, the ingredients and the other seasonings and simmer for about 40 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. (The picture shows the black tea, star anise and Chinese 5-star powder).
  6. Leave it in the pot overnight as is.
