Sauerkraut With Peas (Kapusta I Groch) Recipe
- 1 c. whole yellow dry peas
- 1 onion
- 2 quarts. sauerkraut
- 3 dry mushrooms (minced)
- 3 tbsp. butter
- Soak mushrooms for approximately 4 hrs.
- Soak peas 10 to 12 hrs, cook in same water for 1 hour.
- Rinse and squeeze dry the sauerkraut, then chop.
- Cover with water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add in mushrooms and 1 onion and cook for 1 hour.
- Then add in peas and cook for 1/2 hour more.
- Blend in 3 Tbsp.
- butter, salt and pepper to taste.
