Cheese-Garlic Biscuits
- 2 c. biscuit baking mix
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz.)
- 1/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1/3 c. margarine
- 1/4 c. water
- 4 c. flour, divided (see following)
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 eggs
- Combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast in large bowl with electric mixer.
- Stir well.
- Heat milk and margarine until very warm, 120u0b0 to 130u0b0.
- Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat at low speed, scraping sides of bowl, 2 minutes.
- Add eggs and 1/2 cup flour.
- Beat at moderate speed, scraping sides of bowl, 2 minutes.
- With spoon, stir in remaining flour to make soft dough. Batter will be thick, but not stiff.
- Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
- Stir down and spoon into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
- Cover and let rise 45 minutes or until doubled. Bake at 350u0b0 to 400u0b0 for about 30 minutes.
- Cool.
