Basic Cooked White Rice Recipe
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. white onions, minced
- 1 c. white rice
- 1 1/2 c. water, warm
- 2 x bouillon cubes, chicken
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 x bay leaf
- Recipe can be doubled with no problems.
- Heat butter in a pot which has a tight fitting lid and add in the onions for about 5 min till tender but not browned.
- Stir in the rice and stir to coat the rice with butter.
- Once coated, add in the warm water, bouillon cubes, pepper and the bay leaf and bring to a boil.
- Once you reach a boil, cover the rice and reduce the heat to its lowest setting.
- Cook for 25 min covered.
- Don't stir, don't look, don't worry.
- Remove from heat after 25 min and set aside covered for 20 min.
