Easy Chrysanthemum Leaves with Sesame Seeds and Mayonnaise
- 1 bunch Chrysanthemum leaves (kikuna)
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Ground sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Soy sauce
- Combine all of the seasonings.
- Thoroughly rinse the chrysanthemum leaves, and score the thick stalk with shallow cuts.
- Parboil in a generous amount of boiling water.
- (Be careful not to over-boil.)
- Drain the chrysanthemum leaves, chill in cold water, then thoroughly drain the excess water when cooled.
- Cut into 2 to 3 cm lengths.
- Squeeze the excess water from the chrysanthemum leaves once more before combining with the seasonings.
- Toss with the seasonings, then serve.
