Hearty Slow Cooked Beef Stew
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 (15 ounce) can new potatoes, drained and quartered
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup chopped carrot
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix (such as Lipton(R))
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- Put beef stew meat, potatoes, onion, and carrot in the crock of a slow cooker. Add tomato sauce, water, red wine, beef bouillon cubes, onion soup mix, rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture; stir gently.
- Whisk cornstarch into water until dissolved; stir gently into the beef mixture.
- Cook on High for 4 hours.
