Homemade Applesauce

  1. Add apples, apple cider, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon sticks and a dash of nutmeg to a large saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid and reduce to a simmer.
  3. Let cook for 15 minutes or until apples are tender.
  4. Remove cinnamon sticks and discard.
  5. Mash with a potato masher, and stir in the 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and dash of nutmeg.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and serve warm.
