Out of This World Waffles, the Healthier Chocolate Version
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 12 cup old fashioned oats
- 14 cup chickpea flour (optional) or 14 cup other bean flour (optional)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder, plus
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups water
- 12 cup vegetable oil
- 14 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 1.
- Mix dry ingredients.
- 2.
- Beat egg slightly, mix egg with other wet ingredients.
- 3.
- Whisk wet into dry, do not over mix.
- 4.
- Add chocolate chips.
- 5.
- Cook in waffle maker.
- 6.
- Thaw frozen berries in a bowl in microwave.
- As they melt, they make their own syrup.
- This Is a great topping instead of sugary syrups.

- Note: the bean flour can be omitted, it just is an easy way to sneak in healthy protein and make the sugars impact less for the sugar-sensitive.
