Cape Cod Cranberry Sauce Recipe

  1. In 3-qt saucepan, heat cranberries, brown sugar, raisins, vinegar, cinnamon stick, cloves, salt, and 3/4 c. water to boiling over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, uncovered, 6 min, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add in diced apple and cook till most of cranberries pop and mix thickens slightly, about 4 min longer.
  4. Throw away cinnamon stick.
  5. Spoon into serving bowl; cover and chill till well chilled, about 3 hrs.
  6. Mary Says: This is a wonderful cranberry sauce I found on line 3 years ago and now make it every year!
  7. NOTES : I used a Granny Smith apple
