Wisconsin Cheese Crispies
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 3 drops hot pepper sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup crisp rice cereal
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Stir by hand until well blended.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 325F.
- Form dough into 1 inch balls and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Using a fork dipped in flour, flatten each ball in a crisscross pattern.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.
- Store in an airtight container.
- *This recipe makes about 6 dozen crispies.
