Frisco Sour
- 2 ounces Sazerac rye whiskey
- 1 ounce Benedictine
- 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 splash simple syrup (page 154)
- 1 lemon wheel, for garnish
- 1 lime wheel, for garnish
- 1 brandied cherry (see page 36), for garnish
- Pour the whiskey, Benedictine, juices, and syrup into a mixing glass.
- Add large cold ice cubes and shake vigorously.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the lemon, lime, and cherry.
- Dominant Flavors: whiskey and citrus on the nose
- Body: medium rich mouthfeel
- Dryness: medium, perfectly balanced
- Complexity: medium
- Accentuating or Contrasting Flavors: honey, oak, and herbs poke out of the citrus blast
- Finish: short, fruity citrus
- Glass: cocktail
