Ragout of Beef Italiano

  1. Melt butter in skillet and saute onions.
  2. Add garlic and green pepper; cook 5 minutes.
  3. Add tomato sauce, wine, salt and pepper, mushrooms with juice, and oregano.
  4. Simmer 15 minutes.
  5. Add beef, simmer 20 minutes.
  6. Serve over rice.
