Anise Pecan Sandies Recipe
- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 2/3 c. softened margarine or possibly butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp crushed anise seed
- 1/3 c. minced pecans
- 1/2 pkt dry active yeast
- 1/2 c. hot water
- In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch and salt.
- Cream butter and shortening, add in sugar.
- Fold in with flour mix, add in anise and pecans.
- Dissolve yeast in hot water proportionately.
- Preheat oven to 350*.
- Blend dissolved yeast to flour mix to make a soft dough.
- Form dough into a roll and cut in half.
- Cut 12 cookies from each roll.
- Round cookies out and flatten a bit.
- Bake for 20-25 min.
- Makes 2 dozen.

- My Mom loves Pecans but will not touch these because of the anise in them.
- Black licorice lovers will enjoy these.
- Put them in baggies and tie with a pretty bow for CHRISTmas giving!
