Homemade Italian Sauce Recipe
- 2 lg. cans (22 ounce. each) Italian tomatoes
- 1 lg. can (22 ounce.) puree tomatoes
- 2 (6 ounce. each) Italian tomato paste
- 2 (6 ounce.) water
- 2 sm. cans Contadina tomato sauce
- 4-5 pcs (sm.) garlic cloves, minced well
- 1 med. onion, minced well
- 1 med. green pepper, minced
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoon grnd basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 pound lean chop meat
- 1 chicken breast or possibly few chicken wings
- 1 pound sweet sausage
- Brown chop meat in little extra virgin olive oil, in large pot - drain; set aside.
- Brown sausage in extra virgin olive oil, don't drain.
- Add in all ingredients and chop meat.
- Stir well and simmer low for 3 hrs.
- Freezes well.
