Easy Upside Down Apple Tart
- 5 large granny smith apples, Cored, peeled, sliced 1/2 inch pieces
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 12 cup almonds, slivered
- 12 cup dark brown sugar
- 34 cup golden raisin
- 3 tablespoons dark rum or 3 tablespoons golden rum
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, defrosted
- sugar
- whipped cream, sweetened with
- 1 dash rum
- preheat oven to 400F In a pan, melt butter.
- Add almonds and sugar.
- Meanwhile, place raisins and rum in a separate bowl and microwave on high for one minute to soften the raisins.
- Add to pan and toss in apples to coat.
- Cover and cook for three minutes.
- Transfer ingredients to Corningware Simply Lite bakeware and place puff pastry loosely over the apples.
- Slash in three places to vent and sprinkle with a little sugar.
- Serve while still warm and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream.
