Babs' Coleslaw Recipe
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 c. canola oil
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/3 c. white vinegar
- 2 pkt beef flavoring from ramen noodles
- 2 x (3 oz) pkgs. ramen noodles broken and roasted in oven at 350 for 5 min.
- 1 c. roasted sunflower seeds
- 1 c. slivered almonds toasted in 350 oven about 5 min
- 1 head cabbage finely shredded or possibly
- 2 x (10-oz) pkgs. finely shredded cabbage
- 2 c. finely minced red cabbage
- 1 bn green onions minced
- 2 x carrots peeled and grated
- For the dressing: Combine sesame oil, canola oil, sugar, vinegar, and seasoning packets.
- Allow to sit overnight, making sure granules are dissolved.
- For the salad: Mix ramen noodles, sunflower seeds, and almonds.
- In a separate container, combine shredded cabbages, onion, and carrot.
- Just before serving, combine cabbage mix, noodle/nut mix, and dressing.
