Red Devils Food Cake With Boiled Icing

  1. Cut the chcolate into small pieces.
  2. Add water and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir constantly.
  4. Cool.
  5. Cream fat and sugar.
  6. Add the rest of the ingredients including chocolate mix.
  7. Beat for 2 minutes.
  8. Pour into shallow pan fitted with wax paper.
  9. Bake 30 minutes in a moderately slow oven.
  10. approx 325F.
  11. Cool and frost.
  12. Boiled Frosting:.
  13. Mix the sugar, vinegar and water.
  14. Mix well.
  15. Boil gently without stirring until a fine thread forms when a portion is poured from the spoon.
  16. Pour at once into beaten egg white.
  17. Beat until thick and creamy.
  18. Add vanilla and frost your cake.
