Cheesy Onion Biscuit
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 13 cups milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 12 cup French's French fried onions (break up any large pieces)
- 1 pinch salt
- 14 teaspoon garlic powder
- 14 teaspoon dried parsley
- 14 teaspoon ground mustard
- 14 teaspoon paprika
- 3 teaspoons butter
- 1 small white onions or 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Combine the first ten ingredients and mix well, adding the cheese last.
- Drop in large spoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheet, spacing at least 1 inch apart.
- 9-12, depending on desired size.
- Bake on upper rack for 15 minutes.
- While biscuits are baking, melt butter in a small frying pan.
- Caramelize onion, adding oregano as onions become soft.
- Remove biscuits from oven.
- Gently flatten top with back of a spoon and smooth onion/butter onto tops.
- Place in oven 3 more minutes.
- Serve hot/warm.
