Beef Stroganoff Stew Recipe

  1. Brown meat in oil on all sides (about 15 min).
  2. Remove meat and saute/fry mushrooms, onion and garlic (about 5 min).
  3. Gradually add in flour to make a roux.
  4. Gradually add in water, bouillon, salt, 1 Tablespoons Worcestershire & meat.
  5. Add in meat, cover, and simmer till meat is tender (about1 1/2 hrs).
  6. Combine lowfat sour cream with tomato paste and remaining Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Stir into meat and heat through.
  8. Add in parsley and serve over broad noodles.
  9. NOTES : This isn't really a stew, it's just a way to make stroganoff using cheap beef.
  10. It's quite tasty, but I prefer the real thing.
