Chewy Crumpets
- 200 grams Cake flour
- 4 grams Dry yeast
- 4 grams Sugar
- 3 grams Salt
- 250 ml Milk
- 1 Vegetable oil
- Sift the cake flour into a bowl, and mix in the yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Heat the milk until warm to the touch, then mix it in.
- Let the dough sit at 28C for 40 minutes until it doubles in size.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan, pour the dough into the pan in flat rounds 10 cm in diameter, and cook over low heat.
- Flip them over when holes start to appear on the surface.
- Slice them into bite-sized pieces and serve with butter, jam or your choice of toppings.
