Labskaus - German corned beef hash

  1. Boil corned beef, onions and beet until semi-soft.
  2. Process all 3 ingredients together through a meat grinder.
  3. Place ground mixture in frying pan on medium heat with the lard.
  4. Keep mixture moving.
  5. Stir in the mashed potatoes and 5 tbsp (70 ml) pickle juice.
  6. Add salt and grated nutmeg to taste.
  7. This should be ready to serve in about 5 to 10 minutes.
