Suzy's Zoo Boof Cookies
- 130 grams Butter
- 110 grams Sugar
- 280 grams Cake flour
- 1 Egg
- 1 Cocoa powder
- 1 Red food colouring
- Preparation Sift the cake flour.
- Soften the butter by heating it in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
- Cream the butter, then add the sugar and mix together.
- Beat the egg, and add it to the butter and sugar.
- Once fully combined, add the cake flour and knead with your hands until the flour is absorbed.
- Divide the finished dough into four.
- Colour the body and face portions with cocoa powder (make the face portion darker), a add red food colouring to the heart and cheek portion.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap, and allow them to rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll the dough 3-5 mm thick, and make the parts of each bear.
- This is how it looks when all of the parts of a bear are laid out .
- I used a bear-shape cookie cutter from the dollar store and squeezed it a little bit to make the shape of the head.
- First make Boof's body, then stick on the head, arms and legs.
- Next, stick on the face, ears and stomach area.
- Lastly, stick on the facial features, the cheeks and the heart on the stomach.
- Draw a seam on with a utensil such as a knife.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 170C for about 10 - 13 minutes.
- And they are complete I think that there may be slight differences between ovens, so please adjust the baking time accordingly.
- Note: When dividing the dough, aim to have the light brown dough as the biggest portion, followed by the white dough.
- The remaining dough should be divided so that the pink dough is roughly the same size or a little bit bigger than the dark brown dough.
- You can make the Witzy version in, so if you like, please give it a try.
