Whole Wheat Brown Bread Recipe
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. all purpose unbleached flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 c. sour lowfat milk or possibly buttermilk
- 1/4 c. veg. oil
- 1/4 c. honey
- 1/4 c. molasses
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease (Not oil) 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In large bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Stir 70 to 80 strokes till well moistened.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 40 to 50 min till toothpick comes out clean.
- Immediately remove form pan.
- Serve hot with butter, cream cheese or possibly flavored spread.
- Makes 1 loaf.
- NOTE: To make sour lowfat milk, combine 2 Tbsp.
- vinegar or possibly lemon juice and lowfat milk to make 1 1/2 c..
