Pizza Margherita

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat in a saucepan until onions are translucent.
  3. Add half of basil and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Add tomato paste and water and combine.
  5. Stir in pesto, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. Reduce until desired thickness.
  7. Spread sauce evenly over pizza dough, then add cheese.
  8. Bake initially for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove pizza and add sliced tomato and remaining basil.
  10. Bake for another 2-3 minutes.
  11. Enjoy!
