Double Onion Hamburgers

  1. Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.
  2. Combine all topping ingredients in 12-inch nonstick skillet.
  3. Cook over medium heat 10-15 minutes or until onions are softened.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Keep warm.
  6. Combine ground beef, salt and pepper in bowl.
  7. Shape into 4 patties.
  8. Place patties onto grill.
  9. Grill, turning once, 15-18 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160F and meat is no longer pink in center.
  10. Place burgers onto bottom half of buns.
  11. Top each with 2 slices cheese; let melt slightly.
  12. Divide onion mixture evenly among burgers; place top half of bun over burger.
