Burgers Florentine

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Into a bowl, tear bread into small pieces and add ground beef and remaining ingredients except cheese and English muffins.
  3. Mix thoroughly, but do not overmix or meat may toughen.
  4. Shape mixture into 6 round patties.
  5. Place on a broiling pan.
  6. Broil burgers for about 5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  7. Just before patties are done, place a slice of mozzarella on each meat patty.
  8. Broil about 1 minute longer until cheese melts.
  9. While meat is cooking, toast muffins and keep warm.
  10. Serve patties on English muffins.
