Pantry Mushroom Gravy

  1. Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid.
  2. Set mushrooms aside.
  3. Add water to mushroom liquid to measure 1-1/4 cups.
  4. In a saucepan, saute onion in butter until softened.
  5. Stir in flour and pepper until blended.
  6. Add bouillon and mushrooms.
  7. Gradually add mushroom liquid.
  8. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  9. Stir in browning sauce if desired.
  10. Yield: 1-3/4 cups.
