Almond Float Recipe
- 1 1/2 env gelatin
- 1/2 c. Water
- 1 c. Evaporated lowfat milk
- 3 c. Water
- 4 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Almond extract
- 1.
- Add in unflavored gelatin to cool water to soften.
- 2.
- Heat, but don't boil, evaporated lowfat milk and remaining water.
- Stir in sugar to dissolve.
- 3.
- Slowly add in the softened gelatin and cook, stirring, over low heat to dissolve completely.
- 4.
- Let cold slightly; then stir in almond extract.
- Pour into a shallow pan and chill.
- Cut up and serve with the sweetened water and fruit garnish as in "Almond Float #1".
- VARIATION: For the evaporated lowfat milk and water, substitute 4 c. whole lowfat milk.
- Or possibly else, substitute 1/2 c. condensed lowfat milk; increase the water in step 2 to 4 c. and omit the sugar.
