Arabic Honey Cake Recipe
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 3 x Large eggs
- 1/2 c. granulated white sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. white wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- TOPPING:1/2 c. butter1/2 c. granulated white sugar1/3 c. honey1/2 c. slivered almonds1/2 tsp.
- grnd cinnamon
- Butter a cake pan.
- Preheat the oven to 400 F.
- Beat the Large eggs, sugar and vanilla till the mix whitens.
- Add in the melted butter and mix well.
- Sift the flour and baking pwdr together and gently add in to the previous mix.
- Pour in the prepared pan and bake 10 - 12 min.
- Meanwhile prepare the topping.
- Heat the butter on medium heat.
- Add in the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Pour the topping gently on the cake and return it to the oven for another 15 - 20 min.
- Yields a 10-inch cake.
