Chocolate Ribbon Slices

  1. Combine chocolate wafer crumbs, 1/2 cup sugar and melted butter.
  2. Add melted chocolate and sour cream; stir into crumbs.
  3. Press onto bottom of 9-inch square baking pan; chill.
  4. Dissolve jelly powder in 3/4 cup boiling water; stir in 1/2 cup cold water.
  5. Pour over crumb layer; refrigerate until set.
  6. Combine gelatin and 1 cup sugar in saucepan.
  7. Add water and heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
  8. Bring to a boil and boil gently, uncovered without stirring, for 6 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat, add vanilla and cool slightly.
  10. Beat until thick and creamy, about 5 minutes.
  11. Spread evenly over strawberry layer; refrigerate until set.
  12. Melt chocolate with butter and spread over top; cool.
