Chocolate Ribbon Slices
- 1 pkg. (200g) Mr. Christie's Chocolate Wafers, finely crushed
- 1-1/2 cups sugar, divided
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 2 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped and melted
- 2 Tbsp. sour cream
- 1 pkg. (85g) Jell-O Strawberry Jelly Powder
- 1 env. (1 Tbsp.) unflavoured gelatine
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- Combine chocolate wafer crumbs, 1/2 cup sugar and melted butter.
- Add melted chocolate and sour cream; stir into crumbs.
- Press onto bottom of 9-inch square baking pan; chill.
- Dissolve jelly powder in 3/4 cup boiling water; stir in 1/2 cup cold water.
- Pour over crumb layer; refrigerate until set.
- Combine gelatin and 1 cup sugar in saucepan.
- Add water and heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to a boil and boil gently, uncovered without stirring, for 6 minutes.
- Remove from heat, add vanilla and cool slightly.
- Beat until thick and creamy, about 5 minutes.
- Spread evenly over strawberry layer; refrigerate until set.
- Melt chocolate with butter and spread over top; cool.
