Sugar Cookies
- 1 c. soft butter
- 1 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. salad oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. salt
- colored sugar
- At medium speed, cream the butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, until light and fluffy.
- Add oil and vanilla and beat until well mixed.
- Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt and add to creamed mixture.
- Beat until well blended.
- Wrap and chill for several hours.
- Set oven at 325u0b0.
- Grease cookie sheets. Form heaping teaspoonful into ball.
- Flatten with glass to 2 inches in diameter; dip glass in sugar.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
- Let stand 2 to 3 minutes before removing.
